I began my career in the garage door industry in Florida in 1996. As a founding member of what would become one of the largest garage door franchise organizations in the country, I spent four years traveling across the United States opening new franchise locations, training teams, and helping them build successful businesses. Those experiences gave me a tremendous appreciation for outstanding customer service, quality workmanship, and doing the job right the first time.
In 2002, my wife Stephanie and I decided North Carolina was where we wanted to build our future. With little more than a truck, a few tools, and a commitment to treating people the way we would want to be treated, we started Garage Door Specialist. More than two decades later, we are proud to remain a locally owned, family-operated business serving homeowners and builders throughout North Carolina.
Today, our company has grown to a team of 26 employees, including four family members, an uncle and a nephew, a father and two sons. While we've grown, we've never lost sight of what made us successful—honest advice, exceptional customer service, and treating every customer like a neighbor.
One of my favorite parts of the job is still meeting customers in person. Whether I'm helping diagnose a repair or guiding someone through selecting a new garage door, I enjoy finding the right solution for their home and budget. There's nothing better than seeing a homeowner's reaction when a new garage door completely transforms the look of their home.

I began working in the garage door industry in 1998 when my husband and I opened a Garage Door Repair Service in Salt Lake City, UT. We eventually decided after opening up service companies in a few other cities to return home to Cary, NC and live in the triangle among our family and friends. We take pride in providing trustworthy service to the residents of the Raleigh-Durham and Wilmington areas to keep their garage door working safe and dependable. In my spare time I enjoy my three kids and exploring all of the beautiful areas NC has to offer.

I started here in March 2005 and am part of the family as the Sister/Sister in Law to Jimmy and Stephanie. After all these years I'm still learning something new all the time and every day is something new. I enjoy home design & DIY and normally have some sort of home project going on. I'm a nature and animal lover and have 3 dogs which are a Wheaten Terrier, a German Shorthaired pointer, and a rescue pit mix. I also keep backyard chickens for fresh eggs & fun. I began working in the garage door industry after college in 1975. My dad started a garage door business from the basement of our home in 1967 on Long Island, NY. After working with him a few years, learning the garage door business, we expanded into a main office/warehouse with 5 showrooms and locations. We continued to grow installing both residential and commercial products and in 1988 we opened another location in Florida including an office and 2 showrooms. I enjoy working with clients in a showroom setting or in-home helping them design and choose the right door for their exciting garage door project. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my wife of 49 years along with my 3 daughters and 8 grandkids. I've been at Garage Door Specialist since 2023.
