Garage Door Safety Tips

Here are a few tips that can help increase the safety of your garage door and help prevent unfortunate mishaps in your home:

  1. An automatic garage door is not a toy, so don’t let your children treat it like one. They should never use the ‘big button’ to just make things happen
  2. Never leave a garage door partially open. Walking under patially closed doors or ducking under closing doors is potentially hazardous. Always keep your garage door completely open or completely closed.
  3. Balance is important in having a properly installed garage door. Make sure to use a qualified installer to correctly install or maintain your cables and springs.
  4. If you have a wall-mounted opener, please make sure that it is a minimum of five feet off of the ground. This should help ensure that small children or pets do not tamper with the machine.

We value your personal safety, and take every precaution possible to ensure your garage door is installed and maintained correctly.
